Unless otherwise stated, all the photographs on this site are by one of us, Malcolm MacGarvin. They are compressed and reduced for the website, so the quality of the originals is far higher than you will see here.

Anyone is free to download and make personal use of the ‘Pisces RFR’ watermarked images on the Photo Library pages providing you retain the watermark.

If you feature in the photos, and would like a larger version for personal use or printing, drop me a line and you can have a free copy of a selection of pictures. Similarly, restaurants sourcing fish through Pisces-RFR,  or a fishery supplying to Pisces-RFR, have free annually renewable access to commercial use of an agreed number of images for the duration of your active involvement in Pisces. You will need to contact Malcolm for a licence via the link at the bottom of page.

For all other use, please contact Malcolm first to describe what you do, what you want to use the photos for, to agree terms and receive a licence.

Technical information

Between 2004–2006 I was shooting with a Konica Minolta A2, producing 8 megapixel images. From late 2006 I have used a Canon 5D, producing 13 mp images, using a range of L series (primarily 85 mm f1.2; 28–105 f4; 16–35 f2.8) and other (70–300 f4.0 DO; 100mm macro) lenses. From 2008 the 5D has been joined by its by its bigger brother, the 22 MP Canon 1Ds Mk III. I occasionally use Leica’s (D-Lux 3 and 4) when larger cameras would be obtrusive.
